Air fresheners cover an odour for a few days. They do nothing about the source, which is almost always organic material sitting in fabric, foam, carpet backing or the ventilation system. Smoke tar coats every interior surface including the headliner, pet dander works into seat foam, and spilled milk or food ferments under carpet padding — all of it keeps releasing odour molecules until it is removed or destroyed.

So we diagnose before we treat. Finding whether the source is the HVAC evaporator, a soaked carpet section, the headliner or the trunk determines the whole approach. Saturated textiles are cleaned and extracted first, because ozone works on airborne and surface molecules but cannot pull a soaked spill out of foam. Skipping this step is why so-called ozone bombs fail and the smell returns in a week.

Ozone is then generated on a closed cycle through the cabin with the ventilation running, so the treatment reaches the ducts and evaporator where mildew smells originate. Ozone oxidizes odour compounds — it destroys them rather than masking them. Afterwards the cabin is aired out fully until only clean air remains, and we do a final smell test with you before handover. Treatment is unoccupied and the car is safe to drive once aired.
